Supporting young people

Youth work at MTÜ Peeteli kiriku sotsiaalkeskus is carried out through regular meetings, discussions on topics important to young people, and exciting outings. We base our activities on the interests and needs of the young people attending the center. Every young person has the opportunity to receive counseling and support on various issues such as studying or other personal matters.

One of the social centre’s priorities is the socialization of young people, developing their independent living and work skills. We give children attending the centre the opportunity to learn about themselves and their abilities in a safe environment and to test themselves.

Young people have volunteered at various charities and major events. In cooperation with our partners, young people have helped those in need such as the elderly, people with disabilities, and the homeless. Under the guidance of adults, they have gained work experience in various companies, in center’s daily activities, and in camps. We involve young people in hikes and outings and give them the opportunity to take on appropriate responsibilities. Many of the young people we work with came to the social center as children, and as they continue their studies and need additional support, we have tried to provide it to them. Often, we see that the young people who have moved on from Peeteli Kiriku Sotsiaalkeskus remain friends and continue to interact with each other’s families.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
